Trash: Trash pick up is on Monday. No container shall be placed on the street/curb for collection earlier than 6:00 pm on the day preceding the regular collection day and all containers must be removed from the curb/street by 8:00pm on the day of collection. A limit of 6 bags/cans per residence is all that is allowed. Trash will be picked up 2 times a week for the summer months starting in June, July & August on Monday & Thursday. Metal items such as refigerators, air-conditioners, and any item containing Freon will picked up on Thursday. York Waste is asking that you contact Darlene at 845-1557, 5 days before the pick up day.

Starting January 1, 2013 Pennsylvania's "Covered Device Recycling Act (Act 108) prohibits the acceptance of electronic devices ( televisions, desktop & laptop computers, computer monitors & computer peripherals ( mouse, keyboard, printers etc) to be put out for regular curbside disposal. The Solid Waste Authority will accept these items the 3rd Saturday of every month @ Flour Mill Road in Manchester Township. They will accept answering machines, compact disc players, electric typewriters, fax machines, hard drives, mobile phones, modems, microwave oves, pagers, radios, remote controls, steros, tape players, telephones/telephone equipment & VCR's. Not accepted: toasters, hair dryers, wall clocks, furniture, vacum cleaners, construction demolition, household hazardous waste.

Swimming pools above ground and even wall-less pools over 24" high are required to have  a building permit, please contact the Borough office for this information.

Construction: If your doing any type of construction to the outside of your home (windows, driveways, walks, paving, and *landscaping) please contact the Borough office @ 266-7261 to acquire your application. *Note: New Stormwater Ordinance requirements.

Burning: Please check Ordinance 2009-3 Burning Ordinance restrictions before doing any burning in the Borough.  

All snow/ice must be removed from sidewalks 24 hours after the last snowfall.

Ellis Wildlife Pest Control will no longer be picking up stray cats. You may trap them your self and take them to the SPCA 3159 Susquehanna Trail North, York. 764-6109
